Home Made TeePee

Toni and her mom got together on Saturday to sew this homemade tee pee for Jeb’s birthday.  Papa went into the woods and gathered four 6′ tall sticks to hold it up.  For the housing we used four yards of medium thick linen fabric cut in half.  After cutting it in half, we then cut it at a diagonally from corner to corner, and sewed the edges.  I’m sure there are many different ways you can do it, but we did what would work for us without using a pattern.  The boys loved watching it come together and take form.

Papa then drilled holes in the sticks to tie them together so the boys could transport it themselves without all the sticks being loose.  And with the fabric being sewn tightly enough around the top it is all one unit.

The puppy likes it too.  She thinks she is one of the kiddos.  She even goes down the slide.  The teepee is great for inside as a reading nook or outside in the wild.  And the whole project took less than three hours and cost less than $30.
