This is the view from our kitchen window. You will notice that the post date is December the 21st. What a sad thing for it to be almost Christmas and no snow. The only things we see are brown oak and maple leaves, dead pumpkins on the compost heap (I suppose that’s probably a bad idea…I should move them), and an old brooder house that needs painted. I know that the loose corn husks during harvest and the blond caterpillars all indicated that this would be a mild winter, but after all this is supposed to be the first day of winter!
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining. I know better. Its just that with days like this, when its 35 degrees and the sun is shining, I feel like I ought to be getting ready to plant seeds. Instead, I suppose that I had better put the blade on the tractor. After all, it’s bound to snow sometime.
