Sunday afternoon the boys were in much need of some recreation, so they loaded up in the old pick-up truck and headed out to the pond.
The fishing was absolutely no good, but while fishing, Jeb came upon a fresh goose egg in the grass. Joe had gone to get more worms, and Jeb called out from behind, “Papa, a egg!”
Sure enough, he was toting a huge goose egg. We didn’t have any fish, and we could tell that the egg was fresh, so we cut our losses and left with our loot.
We put the egg in the egg bowl on the counter with the chicken and duck eggs till next morning.
It doesn’t take anyone who knows us very well long to figure out what we did with the egg. We made a goose-egg pannakoeken!
For your information, one goose egg is equivalent to approximately three regular chicken eggs.
The breakfast was great.
