Book Suggestion….How to Start Gardening, Groves, and Keeping Livestock
At Christmas time we were asked by our families to give a list of ideas of things we may enjoy as gifts.
We typically suggest books to fill our shelves and minds with for the winter months. But this year a surprise was given to us, how delightful. The giver said that she thought we might like it, since it seemed to be the direction we were going in life. The book is called “The Backyard Homestead” edited by Carleen Madigan.
If you are looking to start a little veggie bed, or love the smell of lavender growing by your back deck, or would love to keep a few chickens and ducks around for eggs and even a Christmas dinner, this book is great for anyone starting out and needing inspired to make the most of the space that they have. We LOVE this book. Already some of last years plans have been altered because of better ideas we found inside. Just think you could be making mozeralla cheese in 30 minutes.
